Everything You Need to Know About The AoC Beta

On May 1st Funcom announced that the open beta for AoC will be exclusively hosted at IGN’s popular game download site, FilePlanet.com, as well as being offered through partner IGN sites such as Gamespy.com, Tentonhammer.com and Warcry.com. The open beta is scheduled to run until May 11th.

Currently players can only advance through the first 13 levels of the game, and are limited to the starting Tortage area plus various PvP mini-game arenas.

You can obtain a beta key from the following sites:

Age of Conan Official Beta Application - The official application. Accurately fill out with as much information as possible for the best chance of approval.
FilePlanet's Beta Application - Fileplanet's beta application. Free membership required. [Currently Closed]
FilePlanet - Direct Beta-Key Server Address - Alternate URL.

Once you've gotten a beta key, you must register here to gain access to the game:

Finally, you can download the beta client here:

FilePlanet - Requires Download Manager installation.
Torrent - Requires a Torrent client.

Remember:

1. The download is 12.6GB, and the installation is a further 23.9GB. Be sure to have enough hard-drive space.
2. A fast connection is a must. With cable, the download approximately takes 16 to 20 hours.

Occasionally beta keys will be distributed to certain sites for promotional purposes, who in turn may distribute them through contests or competitions. Watch this page for new developments, it will be kept updated with any new beta opportunities.
